VIN code
VIN code
Hello all, is it hard to get a full VIN code number? I have only the last seven numbers on the frame and on the unique anniversary 25`th plate mounted between handle bars. There is no VIN label on the frame. It is 1995 gl1500se anniversary 25`th edition with pearl white paint.

Re: VIN code
There should be one near the steering head. You may have to remove some panels to be able to see it.
Re: VIN code

Re: VIN code
Do you have a title to this bike? It may have been totaled by an insurance company and they removed the VIN tag.

Re: VIN code
Yeah, my '97 has that sticker on the right side of frame as pictured (turn forks to stop), but my'85 also had the vin on the left side of the steering head itself.
All my bikes I ever had had it there as well.
I think the 1200 ('85) also had it on the left side engine case? Not sure, and it's gone now.

Re: VIN code
Is it registered with a valid license plate? Just look at the registration. The complete VIN will be on it.

Re: VIN code
On the GL1500 and the GL1800 there is a stamped VIN on the steering stem of the frame.
I would check there on your bike.
See the picture below for an example:

Re: VIN code
Every bike I ever had had it stamped there on the left. My trike also has the sticker too, I didn't dig for a peak at the stem itself, too darn cold. I might think to take a mirror and look in a little while though, now I'm curious.

Just to prevent any Left/Right confusion;CrystalPistol wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:20 pmEvery bike I ever had had it stamped there on the left. On the GL1500, the stick on label with the VIN is on the right.
On the GL1800, the stick on label with the VIN is on the left.
On both bikes, the stamped in VIN is on the forward right side of the steering stem of the frame.

Re: VIN code
There is only SC22-XXXXXXX on the steering head.
There is a plate with the same numbers under right shelter mounted on the frame.
There is no 1HFSC22SRXXXXXXX, why?
