How do I remove the Hazard switch

Post by WingNoob »

The hazard switch on my '97 is sticking. If tried several times to clean it with contact cleaner. While the contact cleaner is wet, the switch works perfectly. Nice and clicky, no sticking. If I go back the next day and pres the switch, it gets stuck again.

I had the control housing open last night, thinking that I could just pull out the switch and give it a cleaning on the bench, but the darn thing was really stuck in there. It felt like it was glued in. I did remove the retaining clip for the wires, but I didn't see any clasps or hooks and pushing and pulling in all directions didn't seem to move it at all. I stopped because I was getting worried about the amount of force I was putting on 23 year old plastics.

Is there a secret to removing the hazard switch?

Thanks
