1995 GL1500 carbs another question

Post by Sidcar »

Hi folks,
Is there a special tool to turn the mixture screws? On my ‘89 Wing You could use an ordinary flat bladed screw driver but the screws ha tags on them to restrict the amount of adjustment. The screws in my ‘95 Wing are round with a slight flat on on one part, painted white in the picture.
I can’t find any reference to a service tool

It is called a D shaped bit and I use all of the following. The second one can be used with a 1/4" drive socket for better reach in bike if doing it with your fingers. I tie a string to the bits when adjusting mixture screws with engine running in case it gets dropped down into no mans land when not used with the 90 degree. :o If I could only have one it would be the first listed.
