Below is a pic of my center console with, in between the 2 gauges, what I believe to be a fader...
Thanks.
A pic from under:
The bundle of wires leaving this fader lends into the main harness where it divides into 3 connectors.
As it is not working, I would like to remove it. Looking as the connectors, it looks like I should connect the 2 clear connectors together and leave the black one alone. Could someone confirm if I am on the right track or not?Fader Removal

Re: Fader Removal
I'm not sure, it looks to be a plug & play set up,so I think you are right. I did look some at aftermarket ones on Google, Sierra Electronics, Cyclemax, etc, replacements that will replace your control & they will plug & play too. $30 at Sierra with the plugs.

Re: Fader Removal
Thank you.
I went on the Sierra site and look at their instructions for the fader unit they offer. Mine must an old version but indeed I need to reconnect the 2 clear connectors and leave the black one unplug. I will have to tape it shut before closing it all...
I keep this option in mind for when I want to replace it!
Cheers.

You might salvage yours with a application of spray tuner cleaner. They do accumulate deposits over time.
