GL1500A Handlebar Mods

Post by Spook1800 »

Howdy all. I have, among others, a 1995 model 29th Anniversary GL1500A which Jen and I bought brand new and as I grow older my shoulders and more particularly my elbows are protesting at the handlebar position. Does anyone know of an alteration or modification on the market which would enable me to bring the bars up and back, given that said bars are one piece? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Not that it should change anything but I am in Australia.

look for 'Risers'

I had a set of handlebar risers installed on my '98SE
and my current gl1800 has a set of risers installed on it.

brings the hand grips up ~ 2 inches, and back towards you a bit.
for me, it made all the difference.

use this link to find them; https://www.searchtempest.com/

enter the words: gl1500 handlebar riser

on SearchTempest.com you need to set the Mileage radius to incorporate the whole world, since you are Down Under.
