I think i have a polishing problem

Post by HandymanHerb »

Sure you say you can stop anytime you want to, but can you?
Started when i put the LED driving, position and headlights on with a new chin piece.
Then had to polish the bike to match, got it done and all was well, then I looked the front wheel, I'll just clean it up a little I said.

Next thing I know the Flitz metal cleaner is back out, I used a sponge with the green scrubby on the back to do the rough cleaning and do the brushed finish on the main wheel, then used a four inch buffing wheel on a hand drill on polished parts of the wheels, about three hours later I was done with the front wheel back to showroom fresh too.

Wind in Orlando was 16 mph gusting to 28 mph, I did get it out for a quick ride and was getting pushed around by the wind more than I like and today it is raining, don't want to get all that work dirty yet!!!

Then we have lovebugs flying around too, You better get them off quick or they eat the paint, so good time to just clean it up some

I bought it the 5 of March, when I had three big remodeling jobs going, rear brakes wasn't working then so have got a lot done in a short time, replaced timing belts added LEDs, new tires and learning how to work on a Gold Wing after not having a bike for 35 years.

Then I had to learn stuff I never needed on the CX-500, big heavy bikes take some skills at slow speed, I've come a long way on that too with Ride like a Pro lessons on YouTube and practice

Great looking GW you have Sir

Yes it does look really good. My wheels looked like that after polishing them about 3 years ago. Now they are looking scruffy again. I guess you have shamed me into getting busy with that job again.
