Petcock Leak

Post by BIGBopper1956 »

Slow drip at weep hole. Carbs were recently rebuilt and bike runs great. Idle was smooth, just the slow drip. Ordered 2 rebuild kits (one to keep in the bike) and finished the rebuild. Bike started but drip continued. Took it apart a couple more times looking for anything that might cause the issue. Nothing was apparent. Last time it was put together, no drip, Whew, until I shut it off and then it dripped. Also noticed it ran rough. Wondered about the small vacuum line. Something simple turning into the nightmare! Not going to let it defeat me, but if anyone has seen this before let me know where to look

Are you working on the fuel shut off valve or the carburetors? Not sure where the weep hole is that you were talking about

Bottom of the petcock valve just in front of the fuel cap. Uses vacuum to open and close.

If at first you don't succeed try try again. ;)
Leaks are telling you it is not assembled correctly or has a tear by now. There was a good u tube vid that showed how it goes together.
