Fog light connection question

Post by YosemiteSam »

Hello,

My bike currently has H3 halogen bulbs (55w) fog lights mounted below the head lights and they are connected to an independent switch. I'd like to change over to H3 LED bulbs (55w) and connect them to head lights so that they are always on. Can I splice them into the head light wires? Thanks.

Yes, you could do that as long as you use low current LED's. The headlight circuit has enough current going through it now with the headlights.
But why not just leave them the way they are connected now and don't turn off the switch?

It really all depends on your abilities with electronics as to the course of action you take.
Me, i just use a separate switch even though I changed my driving lights from 55W halogens to 10W LED's.
