Hi guys,
I have no power other then to the clock, radio and CB when the key is on ACC when i turn it to RUN i loose the CB and clock power and i hear a clicking noise from the tail main relay (3).
I tried changing the relay with the other and i keep having the same problem.
Battery is good and I checked the power connections to it and all is good on that side.
Key on ACC or RUN
No power to : main Light, brake light, horn, starter, gauges.
Key on ACC
Power to : CB, radio and clock
Key on RUN
No power to : CB, radio and clock
Can anyone help me out?
Update :
Checked the battery with key off it was showing 12.45V and the tender of it was telling me it was ok to use.
Put the key to run, the volts on the battery dropped like crazy to the point i could not get a clear reading.
The clicking sound from the #3 relay was also slowing down.
Could it be that the starter solenoid is fuse closed?
What should normally work when the key is on the ACC?
How do i test the relays to see if they are good using a multi meter?
I was told i should have a reading between 50 ohm and 120 ohm on the brass terminals and 0 on the copper ones is that right?

A little more info will help.
When you say the battery is good, what is the voltage at the battery with the key off?
What is the voltage at the battery with the key in RUN.

Well the battery was showing 12.45 V with key off and when i tried to check it on Run the voltage was dropping so i could not get a clear reading and the clicking noise was slowing down too.
Might it be the starter coil that is fused open?
The battery was on a tender and it was showing a normal charge before the test and after it's showing as recharge needed.

Re: 1992 GL1500 power problems
Sounds like a bad battery. It should maintain power and not drop as you indicate. Power level should be still over 12 V with the key on run. Take the battery to a local auto parts store and have it 'Load Tested' to see if it is any good, first. Then check again with a good battery.

Re: 1992 GL1500 power problems
You were right the battery did not crank out the amps needed, at acc and run i got 4.45V from it but 12.45V when off.
Got a new AGM and it's purring like a kitten!
