Carb cleaning and rebuild

Post by Raj »

Hello fellow bikers and weekend mechanics:
Need help locating reliable source for carb parts for a 1996 GL 1500 A
Opened the right side vacuum pod to find the rubber diaphragm cracked and split in about 5 places.
Question, would one replace both sides or just the one?
Do all the 1500 carbs use the same parts (1988-2000)
Where can I find these rubber dudes??
Thanks for any assistance you can offer
PS: I live in the Okanagan BC Canada in case there are any GW ryders out here in Kelowna.

If you want genuine Honda parts, here is a link to one place you can get them. As you can see, they are not cheap though. It is item 17 in this parts fiche and is $129.17 plus shipping.

Another alternative, if you are so inclined to try to replace the rubber diaphragm, is to order just the rubber diaphragm from here. According to what I see, the correct part # for the GL1500 is the K-72. They are listed as $19.50 plus shipping. That is quite a bit of savings if you are mechanically inclined and want to attempt it.
