I had mine cut off a couple times, but it came back immediately, was like a blip.

Cleaned contacts in kill switch, never happened again.

Did it die gradually like it was running out of gas, or did it just cut out all at once as if you switched it off?

You might want to have a look at your fuel filter as well, then.

With key on do your dash lights work, fuel and temp gauges move, cruise "on" light illuminate with button in, rear running lights work? You will not hear the fuel pump do the 2 second prime on your new ride when key first turned on as that was only for the '88-89 model years. Do you have a neutral light showing?

If the CRUISE ON light does not come on then it is most likely the Kill Switch on the right handle bar switch quadrant that is causing the issue.
There have been multiple reports of the screws holding the contacts in place on the switch coming lose.

With the Kill Switch out of the center position, the engine will not run and it will not turn over on the 2000 Gold Wing.

I would also look at the bank angle sensor and relay 6 ign/cruise. With key on remove and replace #6 relay a couple times making sure it clicks when doing so. If the relay does not click there is a problem.

Just a general comment, this truly is an amazing site with absolutely amazing members! My bike is still out of commission from the accident, but once I do get to raising the dead, I know the good folks here are a few key strokes away from being there for us!

Very interesting, I'm off to check my kill switch, it's the only switch left that I've not pulled apart and cleaned.

Get rid of the Harley gloves and jacket.

The Goldwing is just trying to live down to the standard that you set for it.

Sort of on topic, had similar thing happen, bike running great, stopped for gas and no start, nothing!!
Turned out to be start button contacts not making contact, took it apart, cleaned, spread prongs, assemble and was good ever since.

I just had this happen on the new to me 93 aspencade with 29k on it. Went to hospital 6 miles away (maiden ride after brake and clutch had a full bleeding, oil change, fuel filter changed) and then on the ride home about 3 miles from hospital doing 65...ish...the oil light comes on and motor dies. Pull off the highway and it will turn over but not start. It had been sitting in my buddy's barn for 3 yrs due to leaking petcock (rebuilt). Any ideas would be appreciated, thought maybe a kill switch went haywire 😁
