Throttle back = uses less fuel going down the hill. Or were you figuring on blasting down the hill to flatten the uphill on the other side?

If the objective is to save as much fuel as possible, how much fuel do you figure that you will waste pulling out from a dead stop, after the roadside chat with Officer Friendly?

Give you a hint: It's a lot easier to chase down a Goldwing to pull it over than the squid on the crotch rocket, so you're the lucky contestant (he's not going to wait for the squid). And the squid will see the blinky lights when HE comes over the hill, and slow down. Meanwhile, it's YOUR insurance that has just gone up, and the motorcop gets paid the same whichever of you he cites.

This, of course, is the worst-case scenario. Most of the time, nobody is there, so it's up to you.
