Gearchange Lever brace
Greetings to all `across the pond` in USA from England.
I`m in need of the `brace` that attaches to the gearchange linkage on my `95 GL1500 SE `20th Anniversary` model. I`ve just checked on Amazon here in UK but it states that the brace is `unavailable` and they don`t know when it will be available next. Does anyone know where i can purchase one of these braces in UK or in USA? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Alan.

This thread reminded me that I did buy one from ebay, from peppi-le-pew. It is somewhere out there in the ebay global shipping nightmare.
I believe this to be one of the original sources for the shifter brace.

That is the one I got, it is the original, and 1/2 the price of cyclemax.thebruce wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 9:59 am This thread reminded me that I did buy one from ebay, from peppi-le-pew. It is somewhere out there in the ebay global shipping nightmare.

Re: Gearchange Lever brace
Hi All,
Much appreciate your advice and info, thank you. I`ve today purchased one from the USA, and look forward to fitting it on my `Wing`. Cyclemax don`t post to UK unfortunately so i had to shop elsewhere.
While i`m on here, have any of you had the situation where the neutral light on dashboard comes on whenever the clutch lever is `pulled in`? Neutral light works fine when bike is in neutral, but it also lights up whenever clutch lever is operated. It`s a minor issue that i can get around, but was wondering if this is `normal` for `Wings` made in USA as mine is. I`ve been told by a bike shop over here that this could be happening as a result of something in /on gearchange mechanism inside engine that has `jammed` or is `stuck`. I thought it may be a wiring error somewhere. ie. when clutch lever is operated, the normally open switch on clutch lever `closes`, creates a parallel path to `negative`, and so illuminates neutral light. Again, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

No idea why the neutral light would come on with the clutch pulled, those are not connected electrically that I know of.

They both have a role to play in the starter interlock.
Maybe a bad ground somewhere causing power to backfeed through the switch and light to find ground. Stranger things have happened.

In the reverse diode assembly it looks like if D2 is shorted the Clutch switch can provide ground to the Neutral light.

Hi all,
Many thanks for responding to my query regarding the neutral light.
Think i need to get my head into the wiring diagram and trace it out. Oh what fun¬ lol. Still, makes life interesting i suppose.
Cheers,
Alan.
