the lower cowl deflector Trim

Post by mikemcd »

I'm having issues trying to mount the lower cowl deflector's on the bike, it seems like the engine guard bar is in the way, preventing the deflector from attaching. Could I attach it to the side marker light tupperware and try to attach the deflector gingerly? Any suggestions would helpful.
Thanks in advance

Check the 1500 DIY section look at the tutorials for "timing belt replacement" and "how to replace your cruise and sub air filters" between those two you remove just about all the plastic in front of your foot pegs.

It will fit if you get it positioned just right and bend the tip of the cowl just enough and very carefully. The engine guard was probably bent up a little if it was tipped over on that side.

Just a caution about highway pegs on the engine guards. I have read of incidents where certain pegs on hard surfaces can damage the valve cover if the bike is tipped over.

I have been using the timing belt replacement as my bible. I get pulling the Tupperware off. I haven't seen anything dedicated to the cowl deflector Trim.

Finally, after beating myself up, I finished one side. Thanks again for your advice.
