Previous owner of my bike had the seat shaved by a "pro", and I hate it. Very little padding left.
I will take having to tip toe and being comfortable vs flat footing and uncomfortable. I am sitting a lot more than I am standing over it.
I have been debating getting one of those gel inserts to try. I have tried beads (helps a little), astro turf (also helps a little) and even used the back pad from my riding jacket in combination with the beads and turf, and it was OK at best. After a 400 mile day, I am about done and am glad for my 150 mile range, gives me more chances to stop and walk around to get the circulation going again.
