removing old gold wing symbol
Has anyone out there ever had the experience of removing the old worn out Goldwing symbol on the windshield garnish? It's attached firmly to the garnish. Is it possible to use a heat gun? I want to be careful not to damage the aluminum garnish. Thanks in Advance. Mike McD.

If it's just glue or double sided mounting tape, you can sometimes use strong fishing line, pull it behind, and use it to slice through the adhesive.mikemcd wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 12:30 pm Has anyone out there ever had the experience of removing the old worn out Goldwing symbol on the windshield garnish? I don't recall if that is how it is mounted, or if it actually has through-holes and clips on the back side.

There are 2 holes which look like alignment stabilizing holes, to make sure it's positioned correctly. I'll try the fishing line approach. Thanks...

Re: removing old gold wing symbol
I found the easy answer to removing the Goldwing symbol. I tried a heat gun, and the symbol jumped up and was easily lifted off, and the same process to remove the double-sided tape. I will need some time to polish it.Thanks for the responses to my posting. Mike McD
