has anybody had trouble with the ladder racks breaking?
I am on my 4th one,3rd break I took it to the factory and had new one installed to factory specs,lasted 4 years.
Was told by factory they would guarantee it for life will be calling them to see.

I have 1992 Goldwing 1500 with a Motortrike conversion..............I have only had the trike for two years put 10,000 miles on it and it currently has 65,000 miles........I am curious as to how and where the ladder bar is breaking............do you have a picture of what failed..............just curious and wondering what I might need to check on mine...........what the symptoms of a broken ladder bar?........thanks

Reread your post......not sure what ladder racks are............I was referring to ladder bars on the rear end which holds it aligned with the pivot point...........thanks

mine have broken on both sides,about 2-3 inches from where the bolt connects on the front of the ladder bar.
right where the ladder bar top pipe and bottom pipe comes together that's where it breaks just where it comes to one pipe it where mine breaks.

Hi - Saw your post there - !! - Over in the UK - There is guy called Dave Orme - He has been building trikes since the 1960's - He builds them from scratch !! - So defo knows both what he's doing and all about building trike's there - May be worth asking him some advice on this there - Hear is his face book link there below !!

Any chance you would have a picture of the break...........I checked mine out as best I could, kinda hard to see in the space where the ladder bars attach to the front..............I did notice that on the right side there was 0.010" clearance between the ladder bar pipe and a weld on the bike frame..............that concerns me...........thanks again for sharing a potential problem for others
