Cruise lag time

Post by A1golfr »

GL1500 1997 vintage (new to me).
What adjustments are possible to reduce lag time and mph when engaging my cruise?
Thanx in advance.

I've begun lately to pay more attention to how I release the throttle after setting the cruise. It seems to help if I get to the desired speed then hold the throttle steady while I set the cruise. Then I CONTINUE to hold the throttle steady for a second or two before releasing. This also seems to lessen the 'hunting' that has irritated me since the bike (94A) was new.

Yup, pretty easy to do and completely fixes the lag.
This was one of the first things I did after I got my bike.
