Small Electrical Short ?

Post by benrb1 »

I have a 1998 GL1500 SE. I went to ride after some time and the battery was dead. Battery was bad and I replaced it. I decided to check for any power drain and I think I have a small short. I measure the amperage flow out of the battery of 2.7 mA with the key off. Is this normal? The only thing that I can find that is powered with the key off is the button to open the door on the tape deck. I thank you for any thoughts on whether I have a problem or not.

That is about right. The clock and the radio presets memory are always powered.
