Major Maintenance

Post by Ridgeback46 »

Decided it was time to do some overdue maintenance.
So first I replaced the timing belts. Had thought that I was going to remove the rads and have them cleaned and pressure checked, but after looking at them I could not justify all that work. That part went real well and the bike still runs. Did not manage to get the the temp up to where the fans cut in. Our temperature is about -5C and I did not ride just had it idling in the garage.
Next I moved on to lubricate the final drive ( rear wheel removed). Had trouble getting the rear wheel out. Was following the dyi on this site.
The trouble came when the the wheel was half way out, the driven flange did not freely move out with the wheel. I did eventually manage to get it out.
