Hi I don't post a great deal because the forum usually covers the topic I need. However my starter button is not releasing so l push it in but sticks whereas it should spring back out.
I've opened the handlebar assembly and sprayed electrical switch cleaner in the area of the starter button and sprayed some on the outside as well.
I've manually pushed the button in and out repeatedly around 300 times but still no joy, it doesn't release itself.
Any advice?
Stay safe and take care

Re: Start Button
Is there any tension from the spring at all? Is it possible that the spring has broken? Or is it just binding up on something?harry37 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 6:14 am Hi I don't post a great deal because the forum usually covers the topic I need. Re: Start Button
You need to disassemble the switch. You probably have a bunch of dried up goop that the cleaner will not clear out.
Here is a how to

Thank you.
It turns out to be a mixture of dirt and I can only guess sudden cold temperatures as well the bike not started since November. Not much dirt at all which is why I'm adding the other possible factors.
It's working now and thanks for your help.
Kind regards
Harry
