Hey guys, I just tried to install LED flashers, using CF13JL-02 flashers.
(as mentioned here: viewtopic.php?p=190297#p190297)
Obviously I got the three connections wrong because now I have NO
directional signals, not even when I put the original flasher back in.
All fuses are good. Everything else works as it should.
The four-ways still work fine since they run off of a separate flasher.
What did I burn out what did I burn out by hooking the flasher up wrong?

Yes, I checked every fuse and relay in the panel.
And I checked all other functions on the bike.
Everything seems to be working as normal,
except the directional signals.
Whatever happened, it happened when I plugged
the electronic flasher in the wrong way.

The self cancelling module, in the steering stem?
Time to break out the meter and wiring diagram to do some troubleshooting.

Is the self canceling module still available as a replacement part?

Re: Electronic flashers for LED directionals???
Had this happen on my '85 1200 Limited Edition. Looked at the 1500 wiring diagrams. There should be a white/green (power to flasher), a grey wire, out to load, and a green wire to the negative terminal on the flasher - this is the one that goes out into the system and uses the self-cancelling unit to ground the flasher, shutting the signal off.
I would hook up the 3 pin flasher and not connect the negative pin, signals should work but need to be manually cancelled, or use a two pin flasher first to prove the system still works. Hook the white/green wire to the positive pin and the grey wire to the load. Once I did this the signals worked but no self-cancelling. Installed the OEM flasher and no joy as well. Turned out to be the self-cancelling unit.
Good luck.
