Rear wheel retaining plate for dampers
Hi everyone is there someone out there in Goldwing land that has replaced rear wheel dampers on my 1990 gl1500, but having real trouble trying to get the retaining plate back on, I have the dampers set and installed correct but can't get the plate to catch under the lips on the wheel, cant find anything on line wondering if there a tool that I need or just need more strength to push the plate a little more down.

There is no tool needed. The rubber dampers have "outside" stamped on one side. Make sure that is correct on all dampers. There is an arrow on the plate and one on the hub. Align arrows press and rotate counter clockwise. Bolt down. There is nothing else to the process. I don't know what else to tell you.
