Cruise control issues

Post by Elmobile »

My cruise control stopped working!
I’ve checked the obvious ( brake levers, clutch, throttle), on/off switch operates the light but the cruise control will not engage.
Time to go more in-depth so the trunk is out and the connector removed from the module.
That is when I realized that my service book which is for a 1999, does not match my 1990 SE...

Would anyone have a copy of the electrical trouble shooting guide for a 1990?
As well what do you use to probe the connector? The pin are so small that I don’t have one for my meter...?

Looking for your help.
Cheers

I have an extract of Chapter 21 out of a 1989 Service Manual that documents the troubleshooting steps if you like. I will need your email address to send it to you. It is in PDF format and is a little over 1 mb in size.

A straight pin makes a nice probe and I do hope that you have already checked all of the fuses before going further.
Try to learn from the mistakes of others..... you won't live long enough to make them all yourself!

Swagonmaster,
All fuses in the fuse box check good. So unless there is one else where...?

MikeB,
I send you a PM shortly, thanks.
