I venture to say it's worth 50 bucks if only for parts, past that I don't know what sort of shape the internals of either the engine or trans are in. You could have a gem or a boat anchor there with no more info it's hard to tell. Its got reverse so it's from an aspencade or se, possibly someone else can help decypher the engine number as to year.

Welcome from the Kootenays!
Man I'd pay $50 for it just to tear it apart
and look inside!

I just looked at my '90 model and my engine number starts with 220 so your engine is a good bit newer than that starting with 260.

From the info I was able to find, it looks like that engine is from a 1994 SE California model. Here is where I found that.

After looking at the engine number again, it is not clear to me if that number begins with 260 or 250. If it is 250 then it is a 1993 engine.

I can't make out your engine number well enough to tell but it does look like its a '94 engine for sure. Good link for reference. Try cleaning the number with solvent and a brush and see if it won't come clearer.

Once I get it home (it's 20 miles from me right now) I'll be checking the numbers and update the info I have on it... Are there many issues with these engines? I'm curious to see what normal problems people have with them.

If you will keep oil and water in them and not let the timing belts get too old they are some tough engines, my '90 model has 144k and still going strong and that is not high miles compared to some.

The biggest issue is they often wear out after half a million miles or so.
