T42015 timing belt Idler help

Post by igotcha »

1990 GL1500
I did the pully bearing replacement with T42015 bearing using 10mm x1.25 bolt I also put a tack weld on the bolt head and red Loctite on the threads to keep from moving. I took it for a test ride last night when it was some what quiet out. I now have medium sounding wine from that area. Is this normal or should I tear is back down and recheck?

If the belt tensioners are set too tight, you will typically hear a whine from the belts (along with accelerated wear).

I only used the tension from the springs didnt feel to tight. I going to take it back apart and use a scale and ruler technique

ok I open everything back up. looks like the left side was a little tight must have moved when I torqued it down. I noticed that there is a clicking noise by the main shaft also the metal plate behind the gear looks like it is wobbling a little. I dont know if this is the noise or if this is normal? Here is a video I uploaded to youtube.
