Hi GLers,
It's time for me to replace my mufflers on my GL1500. I am not sure if what is on there right now is stock or not as they look exactly like the Motad mufflers pictured in the top left hand picture at this site;

Motad apparently is out of business now. Any suggestions on where I should get some replacement pipes?

My son is going to enjoy it for many years to come.

go to a Harley dealership,
they have a lot of brand new pull off mufflers there, because the "real men" want straight pipes.
from what I read, it is fairly easy to match them up to 1500's header pipe ( from the crossover - do not delete the crossover )
Once installed on the 1500, they look like OEM mufflers

Are you needing the entire system, collector box, pipes or just the mufflers? Not sure why what is already there affects your plans for replacement.

Andy,
I only need the pipes. I believer everything is okay.
gford - thank for the link. Looks like I can order part 5 in the diagram but I will have to take my tail pieces off my existing pipes as they are not available

When I bought my new mufflers from partzilla two years ago, I also had to remove the tail ends and put them on the new mufflers, easy job
