Engine oil tester
tested wing oil after 1200miles, shows perfect oil
Tested oils from old car I no longer have been in too long very black, shows worst oil condition.
Just wondering how acurate it is, it's supposed to work by measuring acid level in oil.

Re: Engine oil tester
Haven't tried one of those, just use a white paper towel and put a drop on it to see how dark the oil really is but keep in mind that acid isn't the only thing that winds up in oil.
Try to learn from the mistakes of others..... you won't live long enough to make them all yourself!

Re: Engine oil tester
It might show you acid levels in the oil, which is a function of blow-by, but it will definitely not show you the extent of sheared polymer chains, which is really the life-limiting factor for oil in engines like ours that share the oil with the transmission.agedbikeman wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 9:26 am DSC02591.JPG
