Re: stereo fader
Aside from looking online I would check with a local radio installation shop, they would have the fader and if it doesn't have wiring instructions they could give you an idea of what is needed (I would expect wires from the two front speakers in and outputs for the rear speakers out, while I would expect them to be labeled which wires go where I can't tell you).
Try to learn from the mistakes of others..... you won't live long enough to make them all yourself!

Re: stereo fader
A fader is just a potentiometer. Any local car stereo shop will have them, possibly a selection of them.
You might also see what ebay has to offer.

There are plug and play kits that have the proper connectors to hook up to the Honda wiring. Add-On and Show Chrome had them. You might call Cyclemax, they used to sell them, I don't see them on their website, but they have them listed on ebay. If you want the OEM Honda fader, you can also find them on ebay either used or NOS.

A fader is a potentiometer, but every potentiometer is not a fader.Solo So Long wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 10:30 pm A fader is just a potentiometer. Any local car stereo shop will have them, possibly a selection of them.

MOST potentiometers are linear taper, meaning the amount of resistance changes at a given, fixed value as the pot is turned. You'll have 25% of the resistance value when the pot is turned 25%, 75% of the resistance value when the pot is turned 75%. Charted on a graph, it's a straight line.
That won't work for audio, because audio power is logarithmic. You need a logarithmic taper (also called audio taper) potentiometer, which varies the resistance a small amount for the majority of the rotation.
Using a linear taper pot for audio applications means the volume will go from 0 to 95% in the first tiny bit of rotation, and from 95% to 100% gradually over the remainder of the rotation. That's not what you want.
