it seems like I keep coming up with one more question about my 98. today while riding I experienced some brief front wheel wobble at around 65-70 mph. didn't last long and probably not very dangerous but it got my attention. bike has 106,000 miles and fairly old but some tread left and tires aired up to what is reccomended. my neighbor who rides an 03 model 1800 says he has had it happen to him as well. he's wondering if he needs to tighten the bearings on the front fork. what is the consensus ? our highways are not all that smooth anymore and I expect I hit a rough spot briefly

Check steering head bearings and wheel bearings.
