Metzeler 888 Marathon Ultra GW 1500
(allego 3 foto) Grazie

Translation from Google:
Hi, after 7000 km with the Metzeler 888 Marathon ultra I saw some cracks on the rear tire, 7000 km done in two with full suitcases. There are no vibrations, the bike is fine. But I don't like these cracks and they make me drive with little confidence. I wrote to Metzeler but I have not received a reply to date. What do you think? (I attach 3 photos) Thanks

I would definitely be wary of those tires. I don't like the looks of those cracks at all. Add to this that Metzeler has very poor history with tires on heavy Goldwings, we have had many members here who had their Metzeler tires delaminate at highway speeds, sometimes causing serious accidents.
Sicuramente starei attento a quelle gomme.

I wonder what the date code is on those tires?
Regardless that is pretty bad looking.
I have recently read of issues with Metzler touring tires, but seeing this really steers me away from them.
Sad because many years ago, Metzler was all I ran (this was in the 80's on a smaller sportbike).

I saw on the forum the detachment of the tread of the Metzeler 880, crazy !!! I have mounted the Metzeler Marathon 880 twice, but consumption was regular (I attach 1 photo)
