Fuel Pump
I just replaced the motor on my 95 Aspencade and when we went to start it the fuel pump was dead again. This is the 4th fuel pump I've replaced and luckily I had already purchased an OEM pump. Something is causing them to temporarily go out because they still work after I've checked them later. My mechanic eliminated the little black box on top of the fuel pump and it started right up and works fine. Is this black box needed and what does it do? I've tried going to parts houses and find a replacement and it shows under fuel tank that it's item 20 in the pic but it's not listed in the parts list. Could this be possibly overheating the fuel pumps? Is it needed and where can I purchase it? thanks

Re: Fuel Pump
It is a noise suppressor (filter) same thing as on alternator for radio/CB, toss it if you think it is defective.

Re: Fuel Pump
That little black box is just a noise filter to filter voltage spikes out of the circuit that may be generated by the fuel pump.JPochron wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 12:05 pm I just replaced the motor on my 95 Aspencade and when we went to start it the fuel pump was dead again. It is for noise filtration for the CB radio. You can operate fine without it.
