starting problem
97 wing sometimes my bike will not start in gear. will start every time in neutral with side stand up or down but not in gear with stand up .I suspect the switch on clutch lever Any idea how to fix this Thanks

The few times mine has done that, I have taken the switch off, sprayed it liberally with CRC Electronic Cleaner, and then sanded the two wire contacts. That has fixed it once or twice, but someone mentioned it can also be a symptom of a sticking starter relay A. Coincidentally, the last time I got the switch fixed, during my tap tests to ensure it was working the starter relay A stuck ON, and I had to disconnect the battery and replace the relay. A rap or two would have unstuck it (and did), but I wanted to replace it to be safe.

problem fixed took switch apart on bars and cleaned it up with electric spray Thanks for advice

My experience is that once those switches start to fail, cleaning them is a temporary solution. They're relatively inexpensive and easy to get, also easy to swap out, so I'd recommend ordering a replacement: https://cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/clutch ... ch_/198261
