What is this part?
Hey everyone. I recently upgraded from an '86 Aspencade to a '94 Aspencade.
I've already stripped the bike down three times to add enhancements, videos to come soon, but I keep coming across something I am clueless about.
I added an image below.
Thoughts?

Re: What is this part?
Specifically it is designed so you can adjust the idle speed when traveling and you have a big change in elevation.
Usually you will never have to touch it, but some do (ie travel from sea level to 6,000 foot elevation).

Re: What is this part?
Thank you everyone.
I do own the owners manual and I also own the Clymer manual. I just could not seem to find what that knob and consequently what is was.
That said, I also cannot seem to turn it. Should I give it more pressure to turn. I didn't want to break anything so I really didn't put a lot of force in my turn.
I really want to play with this to see if this is a fix to the current issue I am having or something new that I need to diagnose.
Thank you in advance.

Re: What is this part?
Some have complained about the idle control seizing up. It's just a flex shaft to a threaded adjuster at the carb linkage. You might have to open things up to shoot some lube on the threads to get things moving again.
Re: What is this part?
when you are trying to adjust the knob, turn the throttle and hold while adjusting the knob. Doing this takes pressure of the lever

It's the Knuter Valve adjustment.
A local inventor has figured a way to turn a sausage grinder backward to manufacture pigs.

And all this time I thought it was for the kanutzen valve that adjusted the traveling train!

Seriously, the above replies are correct, it is the idle speed adjustment.

The knurled knob should rotate clockwise and counter-clockwise. Believe there is a How-To article on how to free this up if stuck.
