1994 Interstate - Slave Cylinder Seals (Engine side)
I need to replace the inner and outer clutch cylinder seals (engine side). What is entailed with getting to the inner seal? TIA

Just use a small hook tool. A small screwdriver will also pop it out if you don't have a hook.

Thanks! I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear in my first post. I have already removed the inner seal (I know the picture shows it still there. My question was meant to be, how to I get to the place where the inner seal is (on the back side) to replace it?

Since you have it off, use compressed air through the hose connection. Doesn't take a lot. Be careful, it will shoot across the garage if you use too much air. Don't ask me how I know.

How do I get to the inner engine seal on the engine side of the slave cylinder. The inner engine seal that the clutch actuator goes through? That is the seal I need to replace.
I apologize. I am trying to be as descriptive as I can given my limited knowledge.

I did not remove that one. Sorry, I don't have a answer for you.

Thanks for the responses. Hopefully there is a mechanic on this forum that might see this post and be able to advise me.

I saw a picture a member had drawn of how he pulled the clutch cover seal out of the engine. He got a bolt that was a little larger than the hole in the seal and screwed it in the seal with a box end wrench over the bolt. Then he used something to pry against the box wrench to pull the seal out. Here is the picture of how he did it.

That’s a great visual illustration! Thank you for sharing it!
Any thoughts on how to get the new inner engine seal installed after the old one as been removed?

You should be able to just tap it back in place, being sure it is going in evenly all around. Maybe use a socket that will fit around the edge of the seal to seat it.
