good battery but wont start till i hook up the jump pack.
ok so most of the time the bike pops right off but... sometimes it wont start but starter is engaging and its got power. to make it start i sometimes have to hook up my jump pack. but here is the thing i dont even have to turn on the pack and soon as i connect the negitive cable and push the starter button it pops right off. i keep telling my husband that i think its electrical issue what do you think about my bike doing that.

Make sure the battery connections are clean and tight. If they are, then you need to have the battery replaced.arlathrop78 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 12:49 am ok so most of the time the bike pops right off but... sometimes it wont start but starter is engaging and its got power. to make it start i sometimes have to hook up my jump pack. but here is the thing i dont even have to turn on the pack and soon as i connect the negitive cable and push the starter button it pops right off. i keep telling my husband that i think its electrical issue what do you think about my bike doing that.

the 1500 model bikes will turn the starter motor over all day long, and the engine will never start,
IF, it is not capable of holding the voltage at 11.0 Volts or more while the engine is cranking.
pull your battery out and replace it with a new AGM battery....
do NOT buy another Wet Cell battery, those cannot hold up the voltage high enough for the engine to start while cranking. Especially after a year or two old.
this battery has Cold Cranking Amps: 340 CCA
and will start the engine almost before you can get your finger off the START button.
it is the one that I bought for my 1500s.
and the equivalent size for my 1800.

If just connecting the jump pack fixes the problem (not even turning it on), then chances are you've got a problem with the battery cables - and you disturbing them by hooking up the jump pack is "fixing" the problem. Next time you have this problem, give the battery cables a wiggle and see if it "fixes" it in the same way.
