GL1500 cassette tape door

Post by Davidlb »

Gah! I broke the cassette tape door. (1996 GL1500). I thought this was ABS plastic and tried to use ABS glue. It isn't ABS. So, I've got a broken tape door. Unless anyone has one laying around on their workbench, I thought to have a new tape door 3D printed. The best result would be from an .stl file from a previously scanned part. Has anyone had this done? Alternatively, I could use the schematic/blueprint of the cassette tape door from Honda. Long-shot?
Thanks for any help.

Perhaps you could contact Sierra Electronics, who repairs our Goldwing radios, and see if they have one you could purchase. I would bet that they do.

If I don't do Facebook or Twitter, do I still have to do Social Media Distancing??
Those who say it cannot be done should try not to interrupt those who are doing it.
