rear axle spacers
Well I took the rear wheel off last week on my 98 wing. and got in some tires and had them mounted- went back with the rear wheel today and while I'm pretty sure I have everything back correct, I notice the large diameter of the axle shoulder ends up being almost 1/4" inside the left swing arm only leaving about 2/3's of the cross drilled hole outside the arm. I did not notice it when I took it off. the only thing I know of between the swing arm and the wheel on the left side is the caliper mount and the spacer collar which fits inside the bearing seal. with the right end of the axle I had a thick flat washer and the axle nut. the wheel turns fine with it tightened up like that. I just want to be sure I'm not missing something before I call it good

Re: rear axle spacers
That flat washer goes between the caliper bracket and the left side of the swing arm, which will put the whole cross drilled hole outside the swing arm.

Look at step#29 in “how to remove rear wheel” by wingadmin under GL1500 DIY

In that same how-to article, look at steps 48-54. That describes in detail how those parts go back together and in the correct order.

Re: rear axle spacers
OK going back to the information I see there are three O-rings that need to be in place in the final drive, the driven flange and the wheel hub. I'm sure there was none on either the driven flange or the wheel hub so I need to come back off with it and get them all in place. where is the quickest place to obtain them or are they sizes that can be purchased locally? I have some shops close that stock most if I had the sizes

Cyclemax still shows them available on the microfiche and gives their sizes
