Exhaust collector

An old subject,
The link below, does anyone know if this has any silencing properties or is it a noisy getout for fitting new mufflers to a 1500.

The collector just evens out the pressure and allows the exhaust to come out of both tail pipes. The one you are showing should work fine as a replacement.

Thanks yes I knew that, but what about the horrendous noise, if the engine is louder than the radio, I don't buy the bike

What Honda calls a collector is in reality the muffler and the tailpipes are resonators just like any high end whisper quiet exhaust of the era. Chalk these misnomers up to terminology and translations of the day.
The Black Widow straight thru design without the noise reducing baffling does make the exhaust louder with just the tailpipes (resonators).

As you can see I have installed these performance mods before on a customer bike and know from experience utilizing a Bassani X-Tractor.
