1988 Gl1500 Slave cyc leak
Hi I am new to the site and have a question that may have been answered before. I started loosing clutch fluid but it was not dripping on the ground so I am figuring that it’s going in to the engine. I looked at a parts diagram and all the rebuild kits do not include oil seal #15. Is this the seal that will stop it from leaking into the engine? Is it easy to replace this seal? Thanks for the help

I think you're talking about the oil seal that goes into the clutch cover on the engine? If so, then it is not typically included in a rebuild kit. It is NOT easy to remove. I will typically use a couple of drywall screws and carefully screw them into the seal, one on each side. I make sure they don't go too deep, or too close to the edge, to avoid scoring the aluminum cover. I then use those screws to pry the seal free. The new seal, once lubricated with engine oil, gets pressed in its place.

Have you pulled your slave cylinder yet?
I had no dripping visible, but when I pulled the slave, it was quite obvious the fluid was leaking into the void and not into the engine. Just not enough at a time to actually drip from the bike while sitting.
While I don't think there was much if any brake fluid intrusion into the motor, I am still changing the oil once I get the slave back together.
I am not worried about the oil bushing on the engine though.
