Hello all. I was riding along minding my own business when the 30 amp fuse blew. I had recently seen Scott's video about the dog bone fuse so looked there first. I had a spare so changed it anyway but no joy. I then happened to spot the 30 amp fuse behind it and looked in there. This had blown. I had my sidelights on the bike and the sidecar. No headlights on but I did have my heated vest going. I replaced the fuse and all has been right since. But why did it blow? Could it have been just an old fuse? Bear in mind I have owned the bike 7 years and didn't know there was a 30 amp fuse in there!
I am in England by the way.

Yes age can be a factor with fuses.

Re: 30 amp fuse
If you have added electrical accessories to the OEM wiring loom that could be an issue. Accessories need their own power supply direct from battery via relay.

Nothing added to the OE loom. All accessories' are either straight off the battery (sat nav) or the accessory port on the fuse box (heated clothing e.g.).
