Mystery Knob

Post by JKinMT »

Hi all,

I used to ride an early 80s 1100 interstate, and had an '02 1800, but I'm now looking at a '98 SE. Current owner sent me some pictures, including this one of a little gizmo located under the door on the right side of the rear seat (as sitting on the bike). My other 'wings didn't have this, and I'm wondering what it is. Guessing it has something to do with the comms, but not sure. Anyone care to enlighten me? :-) Thanks a lot. - joe

It is the passenger listen audio control. It can decrease the audio for the passenger if the rider's audio is to loud for his or her ears. Right next to it is a CB radio transmit button (TX). Depressing the button causes the CB radio to start transmitting.

One more thing, below the knob is a lever. That lever is used to release the lock that holds the passenger foot boards in either the up or down position.
