The Blackwing brace

One of the improvements I made this winter was adding the brace.
I wondered if I would be able to tell any difference because Ive been off the bike since October.
Happy to say yes to control improvment!!
I have a rutted gravel driveway to the bikes parking spot. It was always a challenge getting up the small hill into the shed.
The only change to the suspension is the brace and the wheel stays more square to the handle bars over uneven rutted terrain than it did without the brace.
Before the brace the wheel would turn into the rut or around a bump ever so slightly causing a balance correction and an uneasy feeling. Still not perfect but much better and easily controlled.
This is exactly what I needed to be more confident on gravel roads which I plan to ride more of this year.
Certainly recommend by this rider!!

Where did you get the brace? I tried twice off of Facebook Marketplace, and they've cancelled my order twice due to no delivery. Can't find a way to order it any other way

You may be out of luck there. Blackwing Lady died some time ago. For a time it looked like someone else was going to take over, but that might have just been for the remaining stock.

I did, thanks Rambozo, saw some posts on here about how they were all done now, and "unobtainium". I found a similar one on ebay, that I orderd for $39 plus shipping, hopefully it will do the trick. Its from "Oleg-Helgi", not sure where they are, but 100% positive rating.

Just as a follow-up to my original post. I have done a significant amount of gravel and logging road rides this year and the front fork and steering is rock solid, very happy.
I will admit that the squarish rear CT does make deep ruts a bit of a challenge though.

I'm not sure if the Blackwing brace is still available or not - I heard rumors that one of the owners had passed away?

As for the Superbrace - I was unimpressed with the Superbrace on my 1500, I still had a fair bit of front end instability, particularly on high-speed curves (think highway ramps) where the bouncing and wiggling was very disconcerting.

When I replaced the Superbrace with the Blackwing brace, mostly as a product review to post here, the difference was night and day. The front end became rock solid, all that wallowing and wiggling went away. Needless to say, the Blackwing brace is still on my bike today.

So I would say, if you can find a Blackwing brace, grab it. If you can't find one anywhere, then settle for a Superbrace.

I know about Superbrace, but looking at the design it looks like Blackwing is far more stable and well-engineered. If I have to pay for Superbrace I'd prefer to buy one on wish.com for 1/10 of the price (especially for me when I have to pay for shipping from US) . For Blackwing I don't have such thoughts.

If it comes to Blacwing owner, yes I've read it in another thread that he passed not a long time ago, but I hoped that maybe someone continues this ... not good
