98 Valkyrie engine swap
I have a 98 Valkyrie that had hydrolocked. Besides busting the starter gears. It busted the transmission case. I've never worked on a bike newer than 1950. So I'm lost on this one. I found a running motor with a good transmission. Now should I just swap the motor and transmission. Or could I just swap the transmissions on them. Can anyone give me any good advice on this? It would be great if anyone had a video showing how to do either they could share or post for me. Thanks

Re: 98 Valkyrie engine swap
The transmissions are not a separate item on these bikes.
Swap the entire engine/transmission and be done with it.

Re: 98 Valkyrie engine swap
Since I've never changed a motor out on a bike like this before. I'm not afraid to tackle it. But can anyone think of anything I might not be expecting, that I need to ready for or aware of??? That has to be done a certain way or something I might unhook and the guts fall out of and springs flying across the shop??? Lol
