Valkyrie fuel pump issues
Currently working on a 2000 Valkyrie. It appears the previous owner wired in a fuel pump for the auxiliary tank and it was constantly on with no relay. Just hardwired into the harness. I can’t find a wiring diagram for this bike so I’m hoping someone out there has one or can tell me what colors the fuel pump runs off and what the story is with the relay. There are a ton of aftermarket things wired into this bike so it’s a rats nest under the seat. Anything help on this! Thanks

Re: Valkyrie fuel pump issues
Welcome to the forum.
The OEM configuration has no electric fuel pump and therefore no wiring color codes in the manual. While I can't be sure, it's highly likely that your belly tank was made by R&M.
So, I can not find the actual instructions. IIRC, the R&M belly tank is supposed to be configured so the pump is on with the key, no separate switch or relay. The fuel lines are supposed to be configured so the fuel from the OEM tank gravity drains to the belly tank and the electric pump pushes from the belly tank to the carbs. There is also a change needed to the OEM petcock. But not everyone installed the tanks exactly per the R&M instructions. Best I can do for you without looking at your actual bike. Here are a couple links that may help.

If you ever find the R&M instructions, please share.
As an aside, the OEM petcock has typical OFF/ON/RES positions but also has a vacuum diaphragm intending to prevent flow is the engine is not turning over.

Sometimes it takes a while but I found the R&M instructions. I also have it as an ADOBE .pdf file

Try the Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club Forum. They have a Tech Forum where I've been able to get help with my 2000 Valkyrie Interstate. See the link below.
