Ground locations

Post by Wing--Man »

I am looking for a whole bike Ground Locations picture. I saw one years ago buy that website went under and not running.
I downloaded a Electrical Manual but that did not help. There are a couple I found in search here, G104 etc., but I am looking for the whole bike.
Thanks

You will probably need a Honda Service Manual to get the info you need.

It's suggest looking through eBay to find one. There are usually readily available.

Thank you Mike, did not expect an answer for a day or two.

This is the style of diagram I am looking for (bottom half).

That can definitely be found in the Honda Service Manual. I can't look it up for you now because I am not anywhere near my manuals.

Hopefully someone can help you out soon.

If I were you I would certainly try and find a service manual for your very own. It is invaluable.

I did just, minutes ago, find a Service Manual on sale.
I hope it has what I am looking for. While those wiring diagrams are very helpful, their location explanations leave much to be desired.

Thanks

If you have never had the opportunity to browse through a Honda OEM Service Manual, you will be very pleasantly surprised when you do. Great diagrams and very clear pictures.

Aftermarket books are okay but cannot hold a candle to the OEM Service manual.

Looking through the manual, I can find the schematics for the ground locations, but nothing but the following descriptions for the G100-G105 ground point locations. There might be photographs of some of them scattered throughout the manual, but nothing I can spot right off.

This is not in the Honda service manual, it is in the Honda Electronic Troubleshooting Manual. Here's the applicable parts:

That is correct however the electronic troubleshooting manual comes with the Honda service manual, at least it did in all four of the Honda service manuals I've purchased.

If you buy a Honda OEM Service Manual and it does not have the Electronic Troubleshooting Manual with it, I would consider it an incomplete service manual.

A while back I downloaded WingAdmin online manual, pictures were almost unviewable but did get me in the general vicinity. While that has been a savior on some items, I would prefer better.
I am currently waiting for the Honda-manual,com to reply back about the pictures quality.

My issue is the dash gauges had a cascading stop working issue. The tachometer is the only item working. While a single bad ground like G104 would be the culprit, I do not feel that is the issue. Then, today a while ago, I ran across 2 grounding connectors that are hidden in the wiring loom, this could be the cascading problem(s).
Now this makes me wonder what else on this machine could be hidden?

I thank everyone who has helped so far, hoping other issues do not crop up in the meantime.

Honda has a tendency to hide splices and ganged grounds in wire bundles. There are times when you just have to start removing tape to see if you can find their splices and ground points.
