1500 will not crack/start

Post by 91cruzer »

This is for a good laugh. I changed my tires & exhaust. I used the lift the rear sub frame method. Worked great. With the rear still up I wanted to check the sound level. Hit the start switch & nothing. I could hear the relay click on the left side but no crank. I turned the key on & jumped the starter. It spun over but no start. I checked all fuses & changed out the relays just because I had them. Changed the starter relay again because I had one. Charged the battery full up. NOTHING. I mumbled a lot. Used some language that I normally don't. Walked away, grabbed a soda & sat there looking at it. All I did was change the tires & exhaust. Then it hit me. Little black box on sub frame. Tip over switch. Four hours of testing. Lowered the rear, hit the key, fired right up. Lesson learned. Don't try to start the bike with rear sub frame up. IT WON'T!!! LOL

As soon as I saw "no crank" I thought, "bank angle sensor." :) Sometimes it's hard to see the big picture when you're in the weeds.
