My 1500 started like it was injected last year, touch the starter rolled over maybe once fired and sat on high idle perfectly just about always.
This year mostly when cold I'm having to hit the starter button several times to get it to turn over then its sluggish to start. Once running everything is normal. Reverse works proper.
Any ideas where to "start" looking?

Re: Starter button?
Battery is almost always the culprit when this happens. Soon enough, it will crank but not start until (hopefully) as you let go of the starter button. Next, it won't start at all. Both the batteries & stock alternators are marginal at best unless upgraded. A new AGM battery & an aftermarket 95-amp alternator fixed my starting problems - lots of grunt for starting, & serious charging for maintaining it all.
At the very least, I'd invest in a new AGM-type battery.

Re: Starter button?
Well the battery is about 2 years old and I think its an AGM(will check today). And yes sometimes it fires after releasing the start button. I have killed the battery a couple times as well leaving the key in the asscessory position,,,, guess I'll read the thread on battery recommendations

Re: Starter button?
Yeah, I'd agree. They reach a point where they have enough grunt to either crank the engine, or fire the ignition, but not both (thus the situation where releasing the starter button while the engine is still spinning over can cause the engine to actually start....but that won't continue for long).
Time for a new AGM battery. I don't think brand matters - I've heard that there are only a couple of manufacturers anyway, and their batteries get all sorts of retailers' labels on them.

Re: Starter button?
I cleaned the posts and put a 2amp charger on it overnight and on this cold day about +6°C fired almost instantly. Will leave it a few days and see.
Thanks much for all the input!
