Are the collector chambers interchangeable for all 1500's or are there some years/models that are specific to certain years.
I have looked and a lot of years share the same part #, but I wanted to be sure.

Re: Exhaust Collector Chamber Compatibility
Since Partzilla is good enough to show the OE parts breakdown and part numbers I looked up a 1988 and compared it to a 2000 model and found that the part numbers are different but I don't know if it might be superceded number issue. Pay attention to parts for A (America) or AC (America/California) version parts as they could very well be different since exhaust is
often an emissions part. I don't know if you want to take the time to go through each year like that or just wait to see if anyone will know for sure.

Often part numbers will change because Honda sourced a different supplier for the same part.
As far as I know, the exhaust collectors are universal for all model years of GL1500.

If you like the quietness of your bike, keep the muffler
If you want it with a bit more attitude.. leave it off and get a Friendly Muffler shop make up a pair of elbows.. cost me $20
Or, have them make you - Straight Pipes !! (warning.. you could love this and you'll barely hear the radio) https://photos.app.goo.gl/ta455Sr7m4x11oRcA
