Saddle bag subframe

Post by RichChis »

I have a 1989 gl 1500. Does anyone know if all years for gl1500 saddle bag subframes are the same? Knowing the 1988 and 1989 are somewhat different. Mine is definitely broken and i see some on ebay for various years.

I am relatively certain that the sub-frames are all the same.

That being said, a broken sub-frame is easily repaired if you have any welding skills.

I drove my bike to the local welding shop with the trunk and bags removed to have broken trunk mounting ears welded. Looked kinda funny going down the road with the bare subframe and all the doodads hanging out.
A local inventor has figured a way to turn a sausage grinder backward to manufacture pigs.
